What is the Training Guild?

A community of dedicated artists committed to excellence, leadership, mentorship, creativity, and service. The guild is for students who want consistent training and performance opportunities, who embody the core values of Outta Theatre, and who are invested in the Outta Theatre community.  

Guild Membership includes enrollment in core training classes, one production, and elective training credits that may be used toward eligible programs throughout the year, giving each student flexibility to personalize their artistic training. 

What is the purpose of the Guild?

What are the Core Classes? 

  • Theatre 101 & 201, Mime 101 & 201, Forms 101, Little Kids Theatre, Tween Theatre

How do I apply my training credits? 

  • Guild Training Credits will listed alongside tuition rates.  

  • Indicate via email which classes you will be taking.  

What if I want to attend more classes? 

  • Students are welcome and encouraged to attend additional classes.  Guild Members receive a 10 percent discount off of the tuition rates for any classes attended outside of the credit allotment included in the Guild Membership package. 

Encore Company 

Encore is our premier leadership and performance company. Members commit to a full academic year of artistic growth, mentorship, collaboration, and performance opportunities. Encore members are committed to:

Leader Circle

A mentoring experience for Encore students who desire deeper personal, artistic, and leadership development.  Admission is by application or invitation.  Students in the Leader Circle will choose a specialization.  Students may propose a different specialization or project other than what is listed below.  Students may also apply for and propose a work scholarship in lieu of tuition fees.  

SPECIALIZATIONS: 

Apprentice Director/Teacher

  • Learn how to plan lessons, manage time, prepare materials, etc.  

  • Assistant teach Little Kids Theatre and 101 classes. 

  • Miss Angie will work with you to determine what schedule works best.  

  • Propose a short project or scene to direct.

  • Behind the scenes access to the directing process. 

Apprentice Stage Manager/Assistant Director

  • Learn the ropes of how to manage the cast and crew behind the scenes by serving as assistant stage manager under Hanna Srour for our main stage production.  

Apprentice Technical Director 

  • Learn the fundamentals of sound and/or lighting.  

  • Learn how to operate the software and work with the director to create the lighting design for the shows. 

  • Learn how to create the sound design

  • Learn how to work with equipment and run either the light or sound for any of the shows.  

  • Student may be working with and learning from other adult volunteers (we have a couple of tech people lined up).
