Mime 101 & 201

Explore the unspoken world of mime. Don't miss the opportunity to learn "the robot," escape from an invisible box, and so much more! Mime is a foundational art form that develops body awareness, precision, creativity, and physical storytelling while teaching actors to communicate clearly without words. Students will not only learn classic French and American mime techniques, but also the principles behind them in order to authentically portray invisible objects, imagined environments, and stylized characters. This deeper understanding empowers actors to create original physical theatre through both improvisation and choreography.

Mime 201 builds upon the techniques introduced in Mime 101. Enrollment in Mime 101 is included with Mime 201 and is required before participating in the 201 class. Completion of both courses is required for enrollment in the Physical Theatre Performance Intensive. Students enrolled in this course are automatically enrolled in Forms 101 for free.
